CHALLENGE
The clients goal was to increase the biogas output from a WWTP’s biogas recovery system (CAL) that was already running at high efficiency.
RESULTS
Increasing the anaerobic efficiency enabled an increase in COD conversion and an 13% increase in biogas output. This increase resulted in an additional $30,000 of monthly approximate energy savings. It is also estimated this site will have a material decrease in downstream sludge due to this biogas increase.
